Tony served as an operational fire officer for 30 years from firefighter to strategic manager: 23 Years as a Flexible Duty Officer and as a Command Officer for 27 in total.
He has undertaken the following strategic roles in the service:
- Director of Operations West Midlands Fire Service,
- Head of Service Delivery, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service
- Head of Learning and Development – West Midlands Fire Service
- Head of Fire Safety and Community Safety in West Midlands Fire Service and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service
