Course aims

This course is designed to provide learners with a reassessment of the skills required to take command at a fire and rescue incident at Strategic level.

This qualifications align with the NFCC Incident Command National Operational Guidance (NOG).

Who should attend?

Competent Area and Brigade Managers in role or those in development.

Learning outcomes

– Be able to evaluate the status of an operational incident
– Be able to assume responsibility for actions to support those involved in operational incident
– Be able to lead a strategic response to an incident with local, regional and national contexts

Length of course

The two day course will comprise 8 hours taught element including lectures, seminars and case studies. On the second day, each learner will undertake a practical simulated exercise.
